My newest painting, cross-section: (44x68in oil on canvas)
It can be oriented in any direction-- vertically it is landscape and horizontally it is the body. (magma becomes blood, granite batholith bone, clay flesh)

And here's the painting I did most of while up at Rainier. It's an impression of all the moving geology in the area and the lenticular clouds characteristic of the mountain. One of the ridges is sort of inspired by Burroughs Mountain, but none of the specific form is taken from real rocks/forms. It's the idea of them, the mental residue that builds up until it is solid enough for a dream or imagined kind of memory.
